Wellington Point Marine Squid Fishing Tips; The Arrow Squid and Tiger Squid are on the bite in the bay, the tiger squid are being caught of the rock wall at Wellington point and Raby bay. Large Arrow squid are being caught in good numbers in the 8-metre mark outside the Wellington Point leads and in the Rous Channel over the weed beds.

Tiger Squid:

The DUEL Dartmaster 2,5 in the BLBI is working on the Tiger squid. These are working well on the walls at Wellington Point and the Rocks Walls at Raby Bay. Best gear is the egi rod, the 6lb Dangan Pink braid, Dartmaster and a Bright torch. Once you spot a Squid casts the lure behind them (around 3m) and slowly retrieve the jig pass them with some pauses. Then watch him strike!

Arrow Squid:

The arrow squid are also taking DUEL BLBI Squid Jig . Cast the squid jig out, then let it hit the bottom. Lift it up about a meter off the bottom, the while you are drifting over the weed beds. It is always good to have a second rod set up with a jig and once you have one bring him to the surface and leave the squid in the water and cast r second jig behind him. his mates will be coming to see what he has and you will have them attack your second lure.
